This annual event features a book talk by Elaine Petrocelli, owner of the Book Passage bookstores. After an elegant lunch in the San Francisco Yacht Club dining room, Elaine highlights the best books of the year and provides anecdotes and commentary about the authors, many of whom she knows personally, and the books, all of which she has read. She discusses children’s books, literary fiction, nonfiction, genre literature, travel, gardening, and cookbooks, so there is always something of interest for everyone. Books are sold following the lunch. There is also a very popular silent auction and a raffle.
The 24th Annual Petrocelli Luncheon will be held on November 5, 2013. For information on this and previous luncheons, please contact email@example.com or call (415) 789-2651.
This eagerly-awaited event for the whole community is held every year in the fall at Blackie’s pasture. It a family event with something for kids of all ages to enjoy.
The event attracts over 2,000 people from all over Marin County. The funds raised and good will engendered all support the Belvedere-Tiburon Library’s children and teen programs and services.
Blackie’s Hay Day will be held this year on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 9 am to 4 pm.
Teddy Bear Tea (December)
Each December, the Bookmarks hosts a Teddy Bear Tea for young children and their families in the Library’s Founders’ Room. Piping hot cocoa, savory eats and festive treats greet little guests at their beautifully decorated tables. A sing along with a special visiting elf and holiday stories read by the children’s librarian, Alicia Bell, complete the day.
Wreath Silent Auction (November-December)
Each year, Bookmarks’ members, friends and local designers create whimsical, dramatic and playful wreaths as a benefit for the Library. The wreaths are bid on during a two-week silent auction period in November and December. The auction closes with a celebration.
Wreaths are sold to the highest bidder. Wreaths are displayed at Corner Books during the silent auction period. The bid book is kept at the front counter.
